The abundance of coastal nooks within an easy walk of the studio provide many an inspiration for paintings. I am interested in the essence of place rather than its specific location which is also the reason I don’t paint representational art very often. Playing with colour and texture creates a tension that hopefully transmits to the viewer allowing. you to further explore through your minds eye. The day I visited this location was a beautiful bright day which led me to explore the notion of brightness and what makes a particular day brighter than others. Playing around with a sense of colour demonstrated what I was feeling that day on the beach. Happy viewing.
