SL with Bottle

Palette knife and subdued colours made this still life pure joy to create. All items from the studio sitting there waiting to be painted. Cremnitz white and savant playing a major role in the hues of this painting. It was satisfying to feel the tension that was created between the foreground cluster and the bottle standing solid in the corner because I don’t always pull it off. This painting is rich and layered and presents very well on the wall. The canvas provides a real tooth for the paint combined with the solidity of the board support for the knife resulting in a deep resonance with the work.
